PASR is happy to announce that we have hired a new executive director: Mark A. McKillop. His first day with the association was Monday, January 23, 2017.
The Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees presented state Rep. Glen Grell, R-Hampden Township, with its 2013 Joseph Siegman Outstanding Legislator of the Year Award on January 7.
In celebration of PASR’s 75th Anniversary, highlighted are some significant years in which our association played critical roles in creating the national organizations serving retired public school employees and all older Americans.
The 1960s were a turbulent period in our nation’s history. The Vietnam War sparked unrest at home and drove people to the streets in protest. They challenged the authorities in government and in many of our institutions, including our educational system. They wanted equality and civil rights and promoted peace and compassion. They demanded change.
