PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE • Pat Timko          As I humbly start my first year as your president, I wish all of you a happy and prosperous new year.           January begins an exciting year for PASR as we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of our founding.  Even more exciting is that Region Nine will be hosting the 50th annual PASR Convention under the capable direction of our own Barb Mitcho, with the able assistance of Barb Nowak from Crawford Chapter.          We will be doing something each month to mark the 75th anniversary.  In January we are asking that each member donate $.75 when they come to the meeting.  This money will be donated to the PASR State Social Services to help those members in need.  For our February meeting we will donate children’s books to be donated to the Hooked on Books program.  I will keep you informed of each month’s activity, so it will be easy for all to participate.          As I mentioned earlier, our Region 9 will be hosting this year’s convention that will be October 7th through the 12th.  We will be asking for members willing to help in many areas.  Barb will be dispersing more information as we get closer to the time of the convention.          I ask that our members continue to encourage their retired friends to come and join us.  Remember we are the only organization that represents only retirees and from all areas of public education.
