Dear Fellow Retirees:
I extend warm greetings to each of you for
the year 2008. May your year be filled with blessings of love,
joy and good health.
The year abounds with a mix of both the old
and the new; thus our agenda will be both rewarding and challenging.
Our challenges include: increasing our membership,
getting to know our Legislators, providing opportunities for
members to improve their health, providing appropriate cultural
activities, providing relevant current retiree information,
providing scholarships for current high school seniors and giving
benefits and discounts to our members. These challenges are
a small part of what we are promoting and doing. But our greatest
challenge is to swell the rolls of our membership. Every member
must accept this challenges so that our voices will be better
heard in our community and across the state.
We need you to make our organization known:
you must join with us by serving as a volunteer on one of our
many committees. Why not call the office to day “I’m
ready to serve”? Our telephone number is 215-400-8750.
We will be listening.
We are fortunate to share the names of new
volunteers to the Board of Directors. We welcome ne Board Members:
Lorene Sylva, Leonard Heard, John Fitzpatrick, and Stanley Field.
These four wonderfully talented members have come forth to give
time, energy, effort and new Ideas. We welcome these newly elected
volunteers to our fold.
At the same time we bid adieu to the following
faithful form Board Members: Rosalie Washington, Janet Ungerman,
William Seiberlich and Elizabeth Morgan. they have given much
time, much support, much love and much energy to the Board.
We greatly appreciate the work of this dynamic team. Thanks
to each of you for a job well executed.
Finally, I look forward to personally greeting
you at our Membership Luncheon to be held on Thursday, March
27, 2008 at the Penns Landing Caterers, 1301 Columbus Blvd.
at 11:45 a.m.
