2008 Summer Luncheon Meeting

At our Summer Luncheon on June 5, our chapter conducted a Legislator Appreciation Event. Nine legislators or their representative were in attendance. We thank them for taking time out of their busy schedule to lunch with us. Representative Eddie Day Pashinski addressed the group on behalf of all the legislators and touched upon concerns of our membership. Incidentally, Representatives Eddie Day Pashinski and Karen Boback are members of our Luz/Wyo Chapter and the state PASR.

Scholarship Award

At our Summer Luncheon on June 5, our chapter presented scholarships to two students from Wilkes University who are currently enrolled in education courses for the purpose of becoming teachers. This year’s recipients are Wilkes University junior education majors Shelly Hydock and Christine Galella.

Lauretta Woodson Award


At our Summer Luncheon on June 5, our chapter presented the Lauretta Woodson Award to two employees from the Wyoming Area School District. The award is given to honor an educator and a support staff person for their dedication and achievement.

This year the award recipients were Michael Podwika and John Bodusky.
