Welcome to Dauphin County PASR

Home to the magnificent State Capitol Complex and the nationally-acclaimed Hersheypark amusement center. Dauphin County serves up a broad slice of life, from the ultra-hip to the homey.

This capital county's 525 square miles and 40 municipalities each have their own local flavor. Situated within a short driving distance of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Washington , D.C. and New York City, the region contains the best of both worlds - both cosmopolitan chic and down-home country.

With a stable work force employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Hershey Foods, Pinnacle Health, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Tyco, Penn State, Capital Blue Cross, Dauphin County and other major employers, this growing region, dubbed the "sweetest place on earth" is known for much more than chocolate. The Giant Center, Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts, the National Civil War Museum, the Antique Auto Museum, and the Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art are all drawing commendations and crowds. While downtown Harrisburg has undergone an extreme makeover in recent years, as evidenced by the skyrocketing appeal of Restaurant Row, other picturesque hamlets retain their old-world charm.

The county also boasts a modern highway system and newly renovated airport, along with high-quality schools, museums, libraries, golf courses, hunting and fishing grounds and other assets.

Like the glistening, mile-wide Susquehanna River at its western border, Dauphin County is a dazzling place to live, work and play.
