All chapters are organized in the same way: with elected officers (President, President-elect, etc.) and chairmen of various committees appointed by the president. These local units have regularly scheduled meetings, plan a variety of activities for their members, and send representatives to meetings at the region and state levels. Each chapter also sends a delegation to PASR's annual convention.
Chapters are the grass roots units of our association and it is at this level that PASR accomplishes its most important work: meeting the needs of former co-workers and friends, raising money for scholarships, visiting members in nursing homes, doing volunteer work in the community, and lobbying local state legislators on issues of importance to school retirees.
Dues at the local level vary (from $3 to $25 per year), depending on the financial needs of each chapter.
