Welcome to the Alle-Kiski Chapter

Attention all Alle-Kiski Chapter members: As you know, PASR in coordination with other state retiree organizations is actively working for the passage of a long needed COLA. As the COLA bill works its way through the legislature a number of newspapers throughout the Commonwealth have written editorials opposing the granting of a COLA to school and state retirees. Two such editorials have recently appeared in area newspapers. Jerry Rea, our Chapter President, has written letters in response to these inflammatory editorials. Click here to read those letters.

Chapter President's Message

Jerry C. Rea - President

Greetings and welcome to the Alle-Kiski chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. We are located twenty-five miles north of Pittsburgh on the scenic Allegheny River.

Our local chapter is an active organization consisting of public school retirees from many neighboring school districts. Most of our members were employees of the following: Apollo-Ridge, Burrell, Freeport, Highlands, Kiski Area, Leechburg and New Kensington-Arnold school districts. We are former administrators, teachers, other faculty personnel, and support staff members.

We provide our members with social opportunities through our two yearly general Membership Meetings in May and October and an annual Christmas Party. Our members are also informed twice yearly via newsletters of items pertaining to "retiree issues." In addition to being active volunteers in our local communities, we also provide an annual scholarship to a deserving high school senior who has enrolled in an educational program in a college or university. We also support PASR, our state organization, that works tirelessly for the benefit of public school retirees throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

We are continuously looking for additional retirees to support our organization as well as to serve on the various committees which have been established within our local chapter to further the work that we do. It is my sincere hope that you might be interested in joining us. You'll be glad you did.

Sincerely

Jerry C. Rea

P.S. If you wish to join our organization or if you have questions about our chapter, please contact Susan McIntosh, our Public Relations Chairman, by clicking on her e-mail address - SCHMMAC272@aol.com.
